On January, 21 «School of future managers» opened its doors for pupils

Management department of the Institute of FEM together with the Department of Education and Science of the Sumy city council organized and conducted on January 21, 2017 the first round of the "School of future managers". The opening of school began with a welcome speech of the head of the Management Department, doctor of Economic Scientific, Professor Oleksandr Telizhenko. In this year "School of future managers" was launched in a new format - for entrants organized 2 sections "Management" and "Public Management and Administration". For the each of sections were invited special guests: a graduate of the Institute FEM, co-owner and director of advertising agency "VIP Media group" business coach Yuliia Shatava, a graduate of SSU, owner and director of the shop «karapuzov.com.ua», Samir Hrytskiv, Secretary of Sumy City Council Baranov Andrii, head of the organizational and personnel work Antonenko Andrii.


"Pitching of student ideas" was carried out at the IdeaLab of Sumy State University

On December 23, 2016 at the IdeaLab of Sumy State University "Pitching of student ideas" was carried out within the implementation of grant SCOPES IZ74Z0_160564 "Enhancing Energy Security by Swiss-Ukrainian-Estonian Institutional Partnership". The event was attended by 16 student teams from Academic and Scientific Institute of Finance, Economics and Management, Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies, Academic and Scientific Institute of Law, Academic and Scientific Institute of Business Technologies “Ukrainian Academy of Banking” of Sumy State University which presented their own development on solving of current social and economic, energy and environmental problems. The projects were evaluated by an independent jury, which consisted of lecturers from National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" Tomaszewskiy R.S., Kozina O.A., Makarov V.O., Ved O.V. and from Sumy State University Sapozhnikov S.V. and Kostyuchenko N.N. Not only the jury, but the experts and students participated in the project discussion.


The First Step in Science

On 11th December the scientific conference "The First Step in Science” took place on the basis of the Sumy State University. The students of first and second courses and school pupils had been participated in this event, and as for section "Society. Economy. Management" there was the subsection "Management of social and business projects" organized by Oleg Balatsky ASI FEM, where pupils and students had presented their research. According to voting results, Alina Korol, second year student of specialty “International Economics” won III place with the theme of the report «Supply and Demand in the Labor Market». The II place was taken by Tatyana Tretiak, first year student of specialty “Management” with the report "Conflict management in the work groups". The ninth grade pupil of Olexander Gymnasium Anastasia Fedotova became a winner, as she provided topic "The problem of "Invisibility"of disable people" which is socially important nowadays.


Cooperation between the Ukrainian scientists goes on!

The joint seminar «New Coopetition Strategies of the Development» took place in Kyiv, organized by mutual efforts of the scientists from Sumy State University and National Aviation University on 24th of November 2016. Shvindina Hanna, associate professor of department of management from Balatsky Academic and Scientific Institute of Finance, Economics and Management (Sumy State University) and Heiets Iryna, associate professor of the department of international economics from Academic and Scientific Institution of Economics and Management (NAU) were speakers of the seminar. These scientists both have experience of international cooperation and begun their collaboration abroad, being Post-Docs at University of Montpellier. After initiation of the research cooperation they proceeded the research in Ukraine on the coopetition strategies.


IdeaLab opening in Sumy State University

The official opening of creative learning space titled "IdeaLab" was held in Sumy State University on November 18.

The Head of the Department of Management Olexander Telizhenko has been thinking about ​​creating such a room to implement a new approach to educational process for several years. The new approach means interdisciplinary training of students from different specialities by creating project teams and implementing active teaching techniques.

IdeaLab opening is one of the key elements of the two-year grant SCOPES IZ74Z0_160564 «Improving Energy Security through Swiss-Ukranian-Estonian Institutional Partnership" funded by Swiss National Science Foundation. The auditorium is equipped with modern multimedia board, 3D-printer, document camera, laptops and other office equipment. The equipment can be used by students  for educational purposes, research and project work.


Students of the Department of Management participated in the project competition

On November 1, 2016 the fifth Open Project Contest within the celebration of the International Project Management Day took place at Lviv State University of Life Safety. According to the results of the 1st stage of the contest, four projects of the Sumy State University students Voitenko Alina, Myronchenko Vladyslav, Shulga Kateryna and Kochubei Oleksandr were selected to participate in the final of the contest by the supervision of Cand. (Sci.Tech.), senior lecturer of the Department of Management Yevdokymova Alona.

23 participants from 7 educational institutions took part in the final of the contest: from Odessa National Polytechnic University, National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, Sumy State University, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, National university "Lviv Polytechnic", Lviv Academic and Research Institute of State Higher Educational Institution “Banking University” and Lviv State University of Life Safety.


Students’ studying in Italy

 Within the framework of international cooperation between Sumy State University and the European Union student of Department of management Perepeka Yevheniia  got an unique opportunity to study in Italy for the autumn semester of 2016/2017 academic year. The program ERASMUS+KA1, by which scholarships were obtained, provides a parallel studying at Sumy State University and the University of Foggia - leading educational institution of the Puglia region. University of Fogia was founded in 1999 and nowadays includes 6 faculties, 16 bachelor's and 15 master's programs. Since 2014 University of Foggia has been participating in the Erasmus programs. Participation in the program Erasmus+KA1 is the great opportunity to get the new knowledge, experience and expand the outlook of participants.


The opening of the Scientific and Educational Group «Sumy Cinema Club»!

The «Sumy Cinema Club» is opened under patronage Sumy State University and Scientific Community of Students, Ph.D. Students and Young Scientists of Balatsky ASI FEM. This Scientific and Educational Group is welcome for everyone. This is a place where interesting and popular movies are shown in English with English subtitles and the hot tea is served.

Good atmosphere, the best movies and scientific discussions after every show will touch everyone.

Everyone is welcome on every Wednesday at 17-00 in Main Building, 6th floor, room 609.

Training «team-building» as an instrument of professional orientation for prospective students


October 9, 2016 the Department of Management conducted professional orientation activities in frames of university events devoted to the Welcome Day. In particular, the training on team-building was organized. It was attended by pupils of 9 th-11th grades of Mykolaiv specialized school of Bilopillya district.

The training took place in the form of a game under the guidance of Ph.D., senior lecturer of the Department of Management Yevdokymova A.V. and her assistants - students of the group УП.м-61 Valeriya Bilenko, Yelena Sverdun and Kateryna Shulga. It caused great interest among the students. The purpose of the event is to identify managerial and leadership skills among the participants.
