Workshop "Resume/CV Building: Secrets to Success"

Workshop "Resume/CV Building: Secrets to Success" took place on the 9th of November (Thursday) at the Congress Center of SSU at 15-00. The idea of that training was born in discussion between Lyulyov Oleksii (Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Business-Administration), Shvindina Hanna (Associate Professor of the Department of Management) and Aaron Kennet who supported this project and kindly agreed to become a speaker. Aaron Kennet, a Fulbright ETA (English Teaching Assistant) Fellow, American researcher came in Ukraine to assist in teaching in English and now takes part in social and educational project actively. This training was devoted to Resume Buiding, the differences between resume and CV, to Power Words and many other professional skills and tips useful for job-seekers in the English speaking world. More than 60 people visited the workshop and expressed their interests to take part in further similar events. This is not our last meeting; many other workshops and training are planned in nearest future. Follow the news. 


International Forum “Regional Voices for Democracy”

On 10th of November International Forum “Regional Voices – Building Bridges for Democracy” took place in Kyiv. This forum was organized by Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association (DVV International). The teachers f SSU who are the member of NPO “Council of Young Scientists” took part in the event, and there were Petrushenko Yuriy, the head of the department of international economics of ASI BT “UABS”, Tarasenko Svitlana, the associate professor of department of public health of MI and Shvindina Hanna, associate professor of the department of management of ASIFEM. During this day there were presentations of successful projects in a sphere of adult education and development of civil society. Projects were presented by members of several NPOs which were granted by DVV International and which are from different regions of Ukraine. Petrushenko Yuriy, our colleague, became one of the speakers and presented the events and results of Centre of Adult Education (Sumy). In a process of forum professors from Germany shared their experience in adult education, thus Dr. Ralph Egler and Professor Dr. Klaus-Peter Hufer brought new insights into the transformation of society into civil and reconstruction of the education towards democracy. The communication was interesting and inspiring for all participants of the forum, the friendly atmosphere favored to building common ideas of mini-projects and further trainings.


Erasmus+ dissemination activities

On October 11, 2017 Svitlana Kolosok (Associate Professor of Department of Management of Sumy State University Oleg Balatskiy Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management) made a skype session with Prof. Gonzalo García Fernández (SEK International School Atlantico, Pontevedra, Spain) to MSc in Project Management. Now Prof. Gonzalo García Fernández has engaged in several research and innovation projects in education (iTEC; eTwinning; ERASMUS+). During the Skype session, he presented main results of Erasmus+ KA2 Project CaRoMtE (Coding and robotics on math through English) to students and answered on their questions about the project.


Summer is for upgrades in teaching and research!

This summer the staff of the department of management took part in several events of international mobility.

In the end of June, from 26th till 29th of June, Prof. Hanna Shvindina (department of management) and Ph.D. student Zhanna Pronikova (department of economics and business administration) became the participants of PhD Summer School in Economics, Management, Governments and Politics, Political Science, Law and Public Administration in Saka Manor, Estonia. The lectures of leading scientists, intense seminars and ideas exchange were provided in a form of the 3-days conference.

From 29th of June till 10th of July Ph.D. Karina Taraniuk (department of management) and Dr. Leonid Taraniuk (department of economics and business administration) completed the internship successfully at International Business School Barcelona (ESEI). The thematic of training was «Experience in preparation of highly qualified personnel, organization of educational process and innovative teaching methods». This training aims to enforce the knowledge of teaching staff in a field of implementation of effective integration methods of teaching and to motivate teachers to improve methods and to envent new ones in sphere of teaching and research.


Selected the Microsoft Innovative Educator(MIE) Experts

On August 25th, 2017 Svitlana Kolosok, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Management of Sumy State University, was announced as a Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert joining the more than 6,700 educators in the MIE Expert program worldwide. Each year, Microsoft selects innovative educators to share ideas, try new approaches and learn from each other as a global community dedicated to improving student outcomes through technology.

As an MIE Expert, educators build their capacity for using technology in both the classroom and curriculum to improve student learning, advise Microsoft and educational institutions on how to integrate technology in pedagogically sound ways and be an advocate at conferences, events and trainings for how Microsoft technology can improve learning.

Associate professor of the Department of Management has passed 10-month training programme at the University of Porto 

From the beginning of September,2016 to the end of June, 2017 associate professor of the Department of Management Iuliia Myroshnychenko has passed 10-month training programme at the University of Porto (Faculty of Economics) within EMINENCE II project. It became possible due to the active participation of Sumy State University and Oleg Balatskyi Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and  Management, in particular,within the framework of the European Commission's programme Erasmus Mundus Action 2.Research projectwas entitled “Estimation of the impact of social, political and economic institutions on corruption-related decision-making model in the business context”.



Participation in the international youth exchange "Being Green" within the framework of the program "Erasmus +"

2-11 June, 2017 the employee of the Department of Management Olga Barabash and Ph.D. student of the Department of Finance and Credit Maryna Kolesnyk participated in the international youth exchange "Being Green" within the framework of the "Erasmus +" program. There were the representatives of 7 countries: Ukraine, Denmark, Armenia, Georgia, Latvia, Greece and Macedonia.

This meeting of young people was aimed at finding possible ways of solving current problems in the environmental field, developing the potential of youth in the field of intercultural youth work by raising awareness on cultural diversity and their ability to work successfully with intercultural youth groups. In addition, the youth exchange was devoted to effective youth work at the European and international levels within the framework of the "Erasmus +" program.

Victory in the competition of scientific works-startups!

The final conference of the Interregional Competition of scientific works-startups "Smart Region, City and Educational Institution for Life and Development of Society" took place on May 30, 2017. This conference is organized within the framework of the Ukrainian-Swiss program “E-Governance for Accountability and Participation” (EGAP) at Odessa National Academy of Telecommunications n.a. O.S. Popov. The teams presented startups from Odessa, Sumy and Vinnitsa regions.

Liliia Sidorenko, the student of the department of management, became the winner of the competition in nomination "Innovations in logistics and processes of technical and technological support of e-governance and e-democracy". She presented a project "The single window of a Center of Administrative Services for people with special needs". As a result of competition, she received funding for her project implementation.
